The soundcard
is designed to fit into a standard 16 bit ISA bus slot on a desktop
P.C. Up to four cards can be fitted in the one system, giving 32 channels
total. A custom power amplifier was designed to power speakers placed
remotely from the computer. Filtered switch inputs recieve TTL level
trigger information for each channel.
The boards
have been used in Mini Golf courses in Australia to provide sound effects
when the player sinks a ball into a hole. A playlist of sound effects
adds considerably to the overall effect for venues which have a 'theme'
to them.
